Medicine Through Time: Chronological Workshop

From the Four Humours to Florey and Chain, this hands-on workshop helps students to make sense of over 2,000 years of medical history.

With the help of original artefacts and friendly competition, students will assemble a giant timeline, placing medical ideas and discoveries in chronological order. They will explore concepts such as change and continuity, as well as the forces behind them. Packed with key dates and big names, this workshop is perfect for revision for any GCSE History medicine module.

What will my students do in this session?

Students will take part in a series of games and activities, aimed at supporting revision of medicine through time. These include an artefact scavenger hunt in our museum galleries and a timeline building activity. To finish the session, students will explore the factors that bought about key turning points and periods of change on their timeline.
