We’ll be releasing an opening date and more information on how we are reopening safely very soon.
With a reimagined immersive visitor experience and 11 new galleries showing how people have triumphed over disease – and how we can keep making our world better, together.
Things are a little bit different in the world right now and while we’ll always do our best to remain open and accessible seven days a week, changing restrictions mean this might change.
Please check our website and social media channels for the latest opening information when planning your visit.

Booking your ticket
To ensure we are keeping our visitors and staff safe, we are operating a timed-entry system for booking tickets. All visitors will need to purchase a pre-booked ticket and show this on arrival to the museum.
When booking your ticket, we ask that you choose a time slot that suits you best and you arrive at the museum no later than 30 minutes after your designated entry time.
Once you have purchased a pre-booked ticket, you will be unable to cancel or amend your order unless you/your family have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms.
If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact the museum and we can amend your ticket or issue you a refund. Please do not travel to the museum if you have symptoms.
Please ensure that you bring a face mask/covering with you to the museum unless you are exempt.
Please have your tickets ready to be scanned on arrival.
We’ve clearly marked all our visitor routes with easy-to-follow signage. There are hand sanitiser stations placed throughout the museum and our team will be cleaning regularly to keep all visitors safe.
You’ll also be able to check in using the NHS Track and Trace app on arrival.
