We have a host of activities, talks and tours that run throughout the week and are offered as part of your General Admission. As a registered charity we sometimes charge for special events, with all the income helping us to inspire the next generation of big thinkers, ignite debates and offer opportunities for play, creativity and education. Ticket prices are stated on individual events pages.

Concessions
Concessions receive 10% discount: seniors, disabled, students, NHS workers, unemployed.
Max Cards are accepted. The offer allows free museum admission for 2 adults + 2 children (aged 5-25). To redeem this offer, bring your card in and book upon arrival.
Free general entry*: under 5s, Personal Assistants attending with a disabled visitor, Friends of Thackray Museum of Medicine, Art Fund Pass, Museums Association Members, Northern Museums Volunteer Pass, on Mondays for those living and working in Harehills (including St James’s hospital)
*Please note: With the exception of Personal Assistants, concession prices apply to general admission only, charges may apply for additional activity and events, including our annual Christmas offer. These are stated on individual events pages.
Sparks! Play Area
Entry to Sparks! is free with an adult ticket, though we advise booking your slot on arrival. If you don’t have time to visit the rest of the museum or just want to book a visit to SPARKS! You can pre-book a slot £3.50 per child.
Safety
We still recommend visitors purchase a pre-booked ticket, but we do accept walk-ups too.
On arrival
If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact the museum and we can amend your ticket or issue you a refund. Please do not travel to the museum if you have symptoms.

Our home is right next to St. James’s Hospital. Onsite parking is available, pay and display charges apply.
You can get to us on the major bus routes from Leeds City Centre. Numbers: 16, 42, 49, 50 and 50A stop outside our museum.
Parking
We have an onsite Pay and Display car park at the front of the museum. The machines accept coin and card payment.
Car Park tariffs:
£1.50 per hour
Alternative parking can also be found at St James’s Hospital multi-storey car park which is a short walk away from the museum. it is located next to the landmark Leeds Cancer Centre building and is clearly signposted as you enter the hospital site from Beckett Street.
