School trips at Thackray Museum of Medicine in Leeds
Florence Nightingale, the impact of WWI, the science behind modern medicine, and the downright grubby state of a Victorian street — just a taste of the sheer scope of what a day with the Thackray Education Team offers.
We’re here to inspire your students to gain curriculum- based knowledge, understand about caring for ourselves and others, and think about careers in healthcare.
We have something for everyone, from Early Years (EYFS) to Key Stage 4+ and all that comes in between. Our self-led trails and workshops explore a range of topics such as History, Science, PSHCE and Design and Technology.
How Does It Work?
Start planning your trip in advance by visiting the museum for free* — meet our team and design a visit that works for you and your students, from a couple of hours to a full day out:
Self-led visits

All self-led visits include a full day ticket for each student, access to our galleries and self-led trails as well as our on-gallery programme of talks.
Workshops
