Huge news as Thackray gets UK only nomination for European Museum of the Year Award

Thackray is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of The European Museum Forums EMYA2023 nominees. Find below a statement from the Chair of the Jury of the European Museum of the year Award.

‘As the Chair of the Jury of the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA), I would like to express my appreciation to you and your team for participating in the annual EMYA competition.

This year we had again a high number of museum candidates that reflects museums’ continuous efforts in developing quality work, as well as EMYA’s long-standing prestigious presence in the European museum sector.

The EMYA judges have done their best and visited all candidate museums.

The EMYA 2023 Jury meeting to decide on the nominations for the awards for 2023 took place from 16 to 18 November 2022. I am pleased to inform you that Thackray Museum of Medicine is among the nominees for the European Museum of the Year Awards 2023

The announcement of the winners and the formal EMYA Award Ceremony will take place during the Annual Conference of the European Museum Forum, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain, from 3 to 6 May 2023.
