Hands On: Heart Dissections

Wed, 19 February 2025 - Fri, 21 February 2025 11.30am and 2pm

Ever wanted to try your hand at surgery? Our popular series of hands-on experiences for families is back for a limited time this half term.

Every day the average heart beats approximately 115,000 times as it pumps over 2,000 litres of blood around your body. Our team of experts will talk you through the inner workings of this vital organ, in this unique opportunity for families to step into the shoes of a medical student and find out first-hand what it’s like to dissect a real heart*.

Limited spaces, please book in advance – please note this event is only available to those with valid museum entry. When booking please ensure you have a valid annual pass for everyone attending, or choose ‘Museum Entry’ when booking to add a new one.

A minimum one adult is required per booking, and sessions are recommended for those aged 10+.

*Non-human! Please note that this workshop uses animal products.

How can we adapt this session /workshop to meet your/your family’s needs? Please get in touch by emailing [email protected]

This February half-term is all about blood – what exactly is it, and what does it do? Take part in science shows, trails, craft activities and more, all for free with your museum ticket.
