Face your deepest, darkest fears this Halloween 🕷
Fear is the most common emotion we share – but what gives you the heebie-jeebies?
This Halloween, Thackray Lates takes over the museum for an evening of mythbusting talks, interactive crafts, and live performances.
From peeing in public to being buried alive, being scared of spiders to being horrified by heights, find out the effect phobias have on our bodies. And maybe face some of yours on the way.
- Fancy dress encouraged — come as your greatest fear. Clowns, dentists, commitment — anything goes!
Mythbusting Talks: Learn the Science of Fear
- Dr Gonzalo Urcelay (University of Nottingham) reveals how lab research uncovers the connection between fear and avoidance.
- Dr Ciara Masterson & Dr Fiona Thorne (University of Leeds) explain how psychologists are trained to treat phobias within the NHS.
